Amortization factor

Amortization factor1) Is the periodic pay down of principal, a common feature of most mortgages. 2) Accounting write down or reduction in an intangible asset or to the reduction in the cost basis of a bond purchased at a premium to par. 3) Sometimes used as synonym for depreciation or other write down of an asset or liability.
