Nominal income




Nominal income

Income that has not been adjusted for inflation and decreasing purchasing power.

Money received by an individual as a salary, or from investments. Cash deposits and bonds will provide income in the form of interest. Shares will, in most but not all cases, provide income in the form of twice-yearly dividends.

Used in the context of general equities. Bid and offer prices given by a market maker for the purpose of valuation, not as an invitation to trade.

A person or company holding securities for someone else who wants to remain anonymous.

Nominee account
An account in which the named holder holds the assets in it on behalf of another (the beneficiary).

Nominee company
A company formed by a bank or other organisation which operates nominee accounts that is, the holding of shares for the beneficial owner.

Nominee dividend
A dividend that a person receives on behalf of someone else.

Nominee interest
Interest that a person receives on behalf of someone else.

Nominee name
A name that is used by the corporation as a generic registered owner on a stock or bond certificate.
