Non-cumulative preferred stock

Preferred stock whose holders must forgo dividend payments when the company misses a dividend payment.

Any currency that is used primarily for domestic transactions and is not openly traded on a forex market, usually due to government restrictions on the currency which prevent it from being exchanged for foreign currencies.

Applies mainly to convertible securities. Type of preferred stock on which unpaid or Omitted dividends do not accrue.

Non-qualifying annuity
An annuity that does not fall under an IRS-approved pension plan. Contributions are made with after-tax dollars, but earnings can accumulate tax-deferred until withdrawal.

Non-qualifying investment
An investment that does not qualify for any level of tax-deferred or tax-exempt status. Investments of this sort are made with after-tax money.

Non-qualifying life policy
A life assurance policy which does not satisfy the requirements of the Inland Revenue and does not qualify for certain tax relief.

Non-qualifying stock option
An employee stock option that does not satisfy IRS qualifying rules and therefore is liable for taxation upon exercise .

Non-rated
A bond that has not been rated by a large rating agency, usually because the issue is too small.

Non-recourse
In the case of default, the lender has no ability to claim assets over and above what the limited partners contributed.

Non-recourse debt
A loan that is secured by some sort of collateral, usually property.

Non-recourse finance
A loan where the lending bank is only entitled to repayment from the profits of the project the loan is funding, not from other assets of the borrower.
