Resistance level
Resistance levelA price level above which it is supposedly difficult for a security or market to rise. Price ceiling at which technical analysts note persistent selling of a commodity or security. RELATED TERMS-------------------------------------- Price The cost of a good or service to the consumer. Level Used in the context of general equities. Price measure of an indication. Security Piece of paper that proves ownership of stocks, bonds, and other investments. Market 1) The total demand for a good. 2) The set of all actual and potential buyers of a good or service. 3) The place where people buy and sell. 4) The process by which buyers and sellers of goods, services and factors of production interact to determine prices and quantifies. Rise An increase or upward movement; an increase in salary (US: a raise in salary). Ceiling The highest price, interest rate, or other numerical factor allowable in a financial transaction. Note Debt instruments with initial maturities longer than one year and shorter than 10 years. Commodity A commodity is food, metal, or another fixed physical substance that investors buy or sell, usually via futures contracts. SIMILAR TERMS-------------------------------------- Resident alien A foreigner who is a permanent resident of the country he or she resides, but does not have citizenship. Residential mortgage A mortgage loan oriented to buying residential property, as opposed to those for the purchase of other kinds of property. Residential property Property that consists of homes, apartments, townhouses, and condominiums. Residual assets Assets that remain after sufficient assets are dedicated to meet all senior debt holders' claims in full.
